NFIP COMPLIANCE

HOME > NFIP COMPLIANCE

The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) requires local communities to meet minimum requirements in order to remain in compliance. FEMA performs regular audits, called Community Assistance Visits, in order to ensure compliance with minimum NFIP requirements. Failure to comply can have serious consequences for an entire community, such as inability to purchase flood insurance, ineligibility for federal disaster funding, and inability to obtain federally backed mortgage loans.

Still Waters Consultants LLC will review your communityʼs floodplain management program to help discover gaps that may result in a determination of non-compliance. Our review includes a site visit with key community staff, investigation of the existing program, driving tour of the communityʼs floodplain areas, and a final written report. Our company can also assist in implementing any program improvements identified in our report (see Program Implementation link).
